Restart scheme

A 5 step return to work process

Designed to support people in securing sustainable employment, the Restart Scheme is part of the UK Government’s ‘Plan for Jobs’ initiative to break down employment barriers for individuals. Commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions, the Restart Scheme gives Universal Credit claimants who have been out of work for between 12 to 18 months enhanced, bespoke support to find work in the West Midlands.

As a provider, Steps to Work are working with employers, local government and other partners to deliver tailored support for individuals with our 5 steps process designed to help break down barriers to employment.

As an organisation, we help local people – many of whom face multiple barriers – find sustainable, rewarding and meaningful jobs.

How to begin your restart journey

You can enquire about the scheme via your Jobcentre Plus Work Coach and ask them to arrange a meeting for you with one of our specialist Employment Coaches.
