BBO Bridges Case Study: Power of Confidence Boost

Sally*  joined our BBO Bridges Project in hopes to build up her confidence and overcome anxiety. She struggled at job interviews due to her nerves often getting the better of her, so needed help to overcome her anxieties. With 2 young children, Sally needed to a job to realise her dream of securing a mortgage to buy a house.

At the first meeting, our Job Coach Kirsty asked her what jobs she would be interested in. Sally felt that Kirsty was always just a phone call away. Whenever she had an invite for job interviews, needed reassurance or answers, she would always be able to reach Kirsty.

Sally felt that Kirsty would always boost her confidence and remind her to have more faith in herself. During appointments, Kirsty helped Sally develop both her interview and independent job search skills. Most importantly, she helped Sally overcome her barriers and gain the confidence to apply for jobs and attend interviews. Kirsty would also help Sally relax before interviews so she would not get nervous easily. Sally felt that she benefited from the project with increased confidence and an ability to better manage and overcome her anxieties.

Here is what Sally said about her experience with the project:

“Thanks to Kirsty for believing in me. I honestly cannot thank the Bridges Project and Kirsty enough for helping me to secure employment. I will be forever grateful.”
