Evolve Case Study: Opening opportunities for Young People

After struggling to find work and experiencing low confidence and self-esteem, Hannah joined our BBO Evolve programme in November 2020. Adopting a friendly and proactive approach, she was very eager to learn new skills and gain independence.

Over the last 6 months, our Evolve team have been working closely with Hannah to help develop her job search and interview skills, as well as discussing different suitable job opportunities and career pathways for her. In particular, her Project Officer suggested that Hannah undertake a Level 2 Customer Service course with Pet-xi, which she was very enthusiastic to do. After contacting the training provider, Hannah finally started the course and completed it within 5 days!

Seeing her enthusiasm and commitment, our team then encouraged Hannah to begin applying for roles and put her newfound skills into practice. As she qualified for the government’s Kickstart Scheme, we advised her to apply for suitable placements. Initially, Hannah was not successful with her first couple of placements but started to receive very positive feedback from her interviews, which turned out to be extremely useful as they offered her advice on how she could improve.

Upon her experience with us, Hannah comments:

“I have really enjoyed being a part of the project, and I loved how available Holly was when I needed some advice or support -I could message or email her at any time.”

Eventually, after applying for a Traineeship in Customer Service with Access Training, she received a phone call to say she had been successful. Updating staff with this news, Hannah was very excited to start and is guaranteed an interview upon the completion of her placement.

We wish you all the best for the future, Hannah!
