Martin joined the Evolve Project in December 2020 having been made redundant in August of the same year because of Covid -19 pandemic. After working for the same company for 20 years, he was devastated when he was delivered the news, but adamant that he needs to find employment as soon as possible. Upon joining the project, Martin was also recently recovering from surgery for prostate cancer and needed to find a job that can be suitable for him.
BBO Evolve Starfish has been working closely with Martin to help build his confidence, create a CV for him to adapt to the different roles, and his support officer Christine was making sure that he was applying for appropriate job opportunities that enable him to secure a manageable job with his health condition and recovery.
As a result of the hard work Martin and Christine put together, he successfully applied for positions available at Co-op, Screwfix, Iceland, Morrisons, and B&Q and quite often managed to secure an interview.
Eventually, Martin was successful in his application to be a Quality Controller for Staffordshire Car Care. Upon leaving Martin commented that the BBO Evolve Starfish were very helpful and understanding.
