Case Study: Forging New Horizons with Evolve

Having been dismissed from her job as a Business Development Manager, Sarah* was experiencing increased levels of anxiety and depression prior to joining Evolve; these issues were compounded by recent difficult divorce that, which impacted her confidence and self-esteem.

Referred to mental health specialists, Burton & District Mind, Sarah underwent counselling where she started identifying ways of coping and overcoming her anxiety and depression. She found she was being listened to and discovered new ways to boost her self-confidence in a positive way that improved her overall wellbeing. Commenting on her new-found positive outlook, Sarah said:

“It definitely restored my confidence; I went into counselling having suffered a messy divorce, which resorted in low self-esteem, no confidence, enduring panic attacks and anxiety daily. I dreaded waking every morning because there was no hope and that I’d never feel better. My counsellor took the time to understand my issues and how they affected me. We covered past experiences and we talked about moving on in a more positive way.”

Whilst working closely with Sarah and helping her overcoming anxiety and depression, we advised her to take the plunge and register as self-employed with the local Job Centre. At present, Sarah is her own boss of Sales & Media Online Marketing and is now feeling in charge of her workload and her life.

With regards to her experience with Burton Mind and Evolve, Sarah commented:

“Fast forward 6 months later, I have now set up my own business, which is doing really well. I now know my worth, which is something thought I’d never say. Yes, I still have days when I’m down, but they’re nothing like before. I now like myself, I’m proud of myself and how far I’ve come and I couldn’t have gotten to this point without this amazing service. Thank you so much for all that you do. I really wouldn’t be where I am today without your help.”
