BCF case study: Starting a career journey

After arriving in the UK as a refugee, Mohammed enrolled at a local college in order to improve his English language skills and learn more about the career options available to him. This is where Black Country Futures (BCF) – and the immigration team at Delivery Partner the Refugee & Migrant Centre in particular – were able to help!

Having no previous work experience, Mohammed required guidance throughout the application and interview process, with his Employment Coach at BCF supporting him along the way. After only two days of completing online applications, Mohammed was offered an interview with manufacturing company Magna.

Due to the support he received through BCF and the English language skills he has developed, we are delighted that Mohammed passed his interview with flying colours and started his job at Magna in January! In addition to this, he has recently been granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK.

Congratulations, Mohammed!
