BBO Bridges Case Study: Getting New Support

Olivia* joined the BBO Bridges project in April 2022. She had been out of work following care commitments and moving home.

To help build her confidence and interpersonal skills, Olivia attended regular group activities and training courses where she made some new friends that were going through the same stage as her. To help better her chances of getting a job, Olivia obtained an Emergency First Aid at Work award.

She also enjoyed the regular job skills clubs that gave her a big boost in confidence which led her to start applying for jobs. Olivia has successfully landed a job and she will be starting this week. We wish her all the very best for her new role.

Here is how she felt about her journey with us:

“I was so lucky to be a part of the Bridges Group which had been welcoming, supportive and fun. I have found not only companionship, but also friends that helped me when times were difficult. A big thank you to Helen & Lisa for their directions, that helped me to find a job!”

Bridges is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund. For more information about the project, please visit stepstowork.co.uk/bridges or contact us on 01922 627555.
